Job Traveler

Job traveler template

A blank process traveler you can print and fill

Free letter PDF. No account. Job name, part and revision, material lot, ten operation lines, and a place to sign. Shops call this a job traveler template or a process traveler template. Same sheet.

What you are printing

The file is one page, generated on this site from the same PDF library the paid travelers use. Nothing is loaded from a font or file host. Open it, print it, write on it. Steps are numbered 10, 20, 30 so a rework step can become 15 without renumbering the sheet. Inspection has its own column. The last row of the page is operator, inspection, and close-out.

Traceability, and what AS9100 8.5.2 actually asks

When traceability is required, AS9100 8.5.2 says the organization controls unique identification of the product and keeps the documented information that makes the trace possible. The note on that clause describes what people often have to retrieve: identity that stays with the product, a batch of material followed through to where the parts went, components followed into an assembly, and a sequential record of manufacture, assembly, and inspection. AS9100 also expects the configuration (what you actually built, including revision) to stay identifiable against what was required.

A traveler is one place to keep that sequence with the part: job or lot identity, part number and revision, material lot or heat, and a signed line per operation. The blank does not create the record. Filling it and filing the sheet does. The clause does not name this form, and no certification body endorses it. It is not an AS9100 certificate and it does not register a shop.

Fill it so the next shift can trust it

  • Job number is unique to the order or the lot, not reused next month.
  • Part and revision match the drawing on the bench, not the one in the old folder.
  • Material lot, heat, or batch goes on the line if that stock has to be traced.
  • Each operation names a place: mill 2, oven A, CMM. “As required” is not a station.
  • Insp marked yes means the job waits for the second signature.
  • Keep the finished sheet if the job has to be reconstructed later.

Paid plan

The blank is free. The repeater is $29/month.

Hand-filling one packet is what this PDF is for. When the same route comes back, type it once or drop in a CSV, save the job, and reprint without the watermark. That, plus the equipment list and the calibration due-list PDF, is the $29/month plan. First month is refundable. Create an account when you want that. You do not need one to download the blank.
